#SAYNOTOXENOPHOBIA

who are we?

people of different races and countries saying no to xenophobia
All human beings are born equal and free, we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect thus, xenophobia is one the injustices we are trying to get rid of. Since our existence, we were never the same. What I am saying is that we are people of different skin colour, we speak different languages and are from different parts of the world. Yet the are still people who hate others because their difference.

The disadvantages of xenophobia
Writing this is actually embarrassing, I am ashamed of being South African. Xenophobic attacks cause a lot of problems in South Africa, this irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries affects the country economically, politically as well as our social lives .Foreign investors won’t invest money in a country where their people are not welcome.SA won’t be able to invest abroad due to the attacks, people don’t do business with countries associated with violence. People are being killed like animals only because their foreigners.for visuals click hereTourists visit countries based on its reputation meaning people won’t visit our country because they simply don’t want to die. Costing SA loss of money, every live matters let’s not act barbaric.for more info click here

It helps people to deal with xenophobes around them it may be friends or family. Saynotoxenophobia spread all over social media and people realizing that foreigners are just like me and you, trying to survive in this world. The initiative changed peoples perspectives, it how problem does not affect foreigners only but the world as whole and our economy. During this initiative perpetrators of hate and crime speech were arrested. People who burned foreign owned shops were held accountable. #Saynotoxenophobia crafted educational platforms that help celebrate diversity.

Recommendations

South  Africa must unite with other african countries to stop this issue.Xenophobia needs to be stoped  because it ruins the relationships we have around the globe.People cannot be killed just because you are insecure. No one is stealing your job, education or your wife.Get up and work hard for your self you will then get good results.

#FEESMUSTFALL

THE #FEESMUSTFALL movement or campaign was a wake up call to the South African government. It had a significant impact on how people look at education in South Afriaca, and higher education institutions. The feesmustfall campaign came with a lot of advantages or rather became  a success for students, celebrities such as Xolani Gwala started paying attention on how students struggle to get education. He started an initiative by raising or donating money for university students.Nedbank also donated a large amount of two millon to the access campaign aimed at helping student of all kinds to afford university and.Click for more information

Nedbank donates 2million to the WITS SRC access raise campaign

The #feesmustfall campaign became a great success when the president Jacob Zuma announced in pretoria that there will be 0% increase of fees in all higher education institutions in 2016 and he is also to look at broader issues affecting university students. This year the government also allocated an extra 10 million rands to boost the national student financial aid scheme. This was done to avoid financial exclusion since a lot of students can not afford university fees.I can gladly say the South African government was able to deal with this matter in a good way,at the end of the year students successfully wrote examinations in peace. For more information click here

The disadvantages of the #feesmustfall campaign

University students protesting the increase of fees.
The #feesmustfall campaign had  negative impact on the South African government.Ministers and political parties were starting to point fingers at who is to blame for the crisis. The 0% increase also created a shortfall of about 3 billion and the higher education department needs to find a way to recover.I never thought South Africa would be what it is today. We students have to protest to be taken seriously or noticed.During the protests some students got violent,i really don't support such acts mainly because they did not solve anything but created a financial problem for the country.Click here for more

Recommendations for the future strategic use of the #feesmustfall campaign
Students should engage in violent free protests because destroying things does not help and that way in future there will be no injured or arrested students. All South African political parties that form part of government should join hand in finding solutions that affect the country rather than pointing fingers. The campaign should be done beginning of the year since students did not graduate last year because of it.
